Still playing around with on my Desktop PC and to be honest I thought I'd hate it but you know what ? It's actually kind of growing on me. Yes I know I can use with but the stuff is kind of nostalgically nice, A blast from the past. Also I'm not that worried if I break it as I can just reinstall and start again until I figure it out totally.
What are desktops / terminals and so on are you OpenBSD folk running on your setups ?

@justine i have not used an openbsd workstation since the early aughts, but i have contributed to that project and i am tremendously proud of myself for that 🤦😂 i believe openbsd was the first unix to offer antialiased text in a browser (even if it *was* `Konqueror` 😆)

i always (almost always) used ion or xmonad and WindowMaker/GNUStep.

if i have to pick in a hurry wmaker is easy to understand and appealing (provided you liked OpenStep/NeXT)

Thanks but I have Herbstluftwm installed just now as I love tiling WM's. On my laptop I run RiverWM as have been a Wayland user for a good few years. Just thought I'd get that true Unixy feel with OpenBSD and an X setup.

@justine is wayland well supported on openbsd in your opinion?

No not at the moment hence I use on my daily.

@justine Last time I ran OpenBSD on a non-server/appliance I was using the dwm window manager with the st terminal. My own wm, mcwm, also with st, before that. OpenBSD worked very nicely on a Thinkpad, much better by default than FreeBSD on the same hardware, including things like sound and suspend/resume. FreeBSD was faster, though, and much better threading/MP.

Not sure mcwm will build on a modern OpenBSD/Xenocara, but it's here if you want to try:
