For me, there has never been an #OpenWrt firmware upgrade that didn't cause major headache & require hours of maintenance. Even some package updates broke the system in the past.

Today, I tried to update from 23.0.2 to 23.0.5 while preserving my settings, but this prevented the router from doing IPv4 at all. 🤡 Only thanks to SSH over IPv6 I could reset OpenWrt entirely to default and manually set up everything again. Couldn't bother to repair the wreck.

Not blaming anyone, I'm just frustrated.

Recently, I learned that #Thunderbird supports #Matrix, so I immediately logged in with two of my accounts to try it out.

Me: Hm, all rooms from both accounts appear in one list. So confusing! Let's see whether I can hide some of them... 🧐

Thunderbird: There's a little grey X icon next to each room

Me: Handy! Let's click on a couple of those. 😄

Can anyone explain the reasoning behind #F-Droid's classification of apps into “contains anti-features”?

PixelDroid, a FOSS client for Pixelfed (FOSS), has no anti-features. Several Mastodon clients, however, “promote closed-source cloud services”, although Mastodon is FOSS too.

FOSS clients for Tutanota and ProtonMail (closed-source servers) do have anti-features, but regular IMAP clients don't (although the typical mail server is not FOSS).

To me, the classification seems random at best. 🧐
