@GottaLaff yes. I like it here. But you know your posts will trigger the same number of bots and trolls no matter where you go and our admin is by himself, no one to help so it might not be fair to him. I would contact him directly to inquire first. He has a day job as well.

You are on the spammers' lists of people whose threads are seen by many people, so you can't escape spam for very long, but you might benefit from being on a smaller instance with more focused moderators.

It’s worth it to learn more about this thing called #fediverse, in my humble opinion the best way to go is to set your own instance and not be dependant on anyone’s time,
Disposition, etc.

@GottaLaff @SnowshadowII if you're looking for a very well-moderated instance, I'd suggest also looking at hachyderm.io. I imagine @mekkaokereke and @molly0xfff also deal with massive amounts of bots and other nonsense and can speak (publicly or privately) about their experiences with the mods on Hachyderm.

@GottaLaff @SnowshadowII I'm happy with my instance, mstdn.social . It's not as large as mastodon.social, but not small either. @stux the admin does a very good job. I find I get much less junk here than I get on another account I have on mastodon.social. Hope this helps.

I picked a server that was info security based and have been happy buying them coffees every month. In the Wild West, the guys who study security seemed the best play.
It does mean some work to follow folks that you don’t have being on the largest instance.
However bots and trolls have to do that same work too.

I think the @mastodon instance is where the 'Elon Musk' account, that I blocked earlier, lives. It's the second time someone calling themselves elon musk has tried to follow me. I don't like it.

@GottaLaff silly question, but do you have the APPROVE FOLLOWERS option turned on? that could eliminate them right away at your pace, without them attaching to you so easily.... you can see their bios and slap the right away...
