Föderation EN Mo 18.11.2024 07:05:41 Looking for some help about old fediverse profiles that linger about. My searches haven’t been productive. Examples. I deleted an old PeerTube account and migrated to a new one. The deleted account still shows up in fediverse searches. I also played with a Clackey account once that I deleted. It’s also still around. Anyone know how to purge these? @FediTips? |

Föderation EN Mo 18.11.2024 11:10:22 They may be visible for a while until your server gets round to purging them automatically. Because accounts and servers sometimes go offline temporarily, other servers don't purge info immediately but give them a chance to get back online. If they stay offline for a long time, eventually your server will assume they're gone forever and purge the info. You can ask your admin to manually purge info about these accounts if you want this to happen straight away. |

Föderation EN Mo 18.11.2024 12:12:27 p.s. I should add, normally when you delete an account it does send a delete signal to other servers to get rid of it. However this sometimes doesn't get through, but the fallback of purging gets rid of it eventually. |
