@utzer ArchLinux, and yes, I already tried that. But also it shouldn't cause such UI issues. I'm not even talking about it taking a second or two to search for stuff, or to load a folder or to scroll through one. I'm just talking about navigating the UI or being responsive at all.
Since the last one or two updates it also sometimes "detects" the cursor on a completely different location than it is. But if I leave the window and reenter it with it then it's fine again...

@agowa338 that sounds strange. Maybe @thunderbird has an idea how to find the cause for this or where to look for a solution?

@utzer @agowa338 Sorry for the delay - we have three steps to suggest. The first is troubleshoot mode, which you can access via Thunderbird Menu > Help. If that doesn't improve things, we suggest disabling third party software that might be interfering, like anti-virus and firewalls. If neither work, file your issue at support.mozilla.org/new with your OS, TB version, and any other information that can help troubleshoot this issue. We hope this helps!

@thunderbird It's not a 3rd party (extension) related issue. I was able to resolve the issue by disabling global index, running fstrim (I.E. discard), disable luks2/cryptsetup read and write caching, compressing all mailboxes.

Edit: And reenabling global index/search after all of this does not cause the issue to resurface.
