So, while the massive crowds in NY, Washington, Boston and Chicago are great, please show your appreciation to those who protested in smaller towns.

Even a crowd of 25 or 30 people… they risk more. They’re holding up signs in front of their neighbours and people they know. That takes a courage that you don’t need in a big march in a big city.

@mumbojumbo @Remittancegirl Love that sign there: "It's so bad even the introverts are here." ❤️

Föderation EN So 06.04.2025 01:41:49

@mumbojumbo @Remittancegirl it was very heartening. Especially in red states. Homer, Ak had about 500. Small town at “the end of the road.”

Every voice counts. When there no more voices to be heard, we will no longer exist. Be brave, stand tall, advocate for our everyone..

@Remittancegirl

Echoing this sentiment. Having been in Chicago for the Women’s march and now in a much smaller city in a much redder area of the country, standing up and standing out takes just that much more courage. Having said that, somewhere between 400 and 500 people showed up for the march I attended. That is pretty remarkable given it represents almost 8% of the total population of the city in which it took place.

Föderation EN So 06.04.2025 00:54:46

@jsnrchr @Remittancegirl I was surprised here too. I was expecting maybe a hundred. (We have a relatively large red population)
So seeing several hundred, made me happy.

Where I was in Hartford CT a Maga went roaring by in his truck blowing his horn and he had a big "Trump Won" flag streaming out the back...every person I saw flipped him off.

@Remittancegirl Exactly where the problem is, is where it is most effective, honest, and sincere.

Around 100 in Zanesville, Ohio.

@Remittancegirl Representing for Wells, Maine, population "11,314 at the 2020 census."
We had at least 400 people out I'd say.

Even a Quebec license plate drove by, I think I heard a honk.

@Remittancegirl it’s overwhelming to see, I’m in a far-away country literally choking back tears at the images of protesters in small American towns - especially solo protesters standing in clearly frigid conditions. Inspiring.
