I don't understand why @Vivaldi on their website for linux users is like "you can download this file which might not run on your distro or you can install the snap (which is a bad format for desktop apps and also doesn't work on most distro's).

Flatpak's exist, Flatpak's work well.
Just officially support Flatpak like many other software available for linux

@thibaultmol The flatpak on Flathub is unverified.

At least they offer a dpkg and rpm package, be glad they don't provide an AppImage only.

Companies who do that frustrate me.

@desikn @thibaultmol omg I once had to use an AppImage and then change some configuration files but apparently they are then stored within the image so I have up. 😭

@Vivaldi thx for the info, didn't know! Still, if you're on the downloads page you might not even know there is a flatpak. Has the team considered adding a text only link to this "community maintained flatpak" with a little (i) explaining this reason?
