@molly0xfff As someone who likes to sanitize URL's of extraneous appendages when linking – if nothing else to avoid weird tracking stuff – this hurts.

Then again if you're using ChatGPT to find stuff then URL sanitation is probably not top of mind.

@molly0xfff last time I saw that was on a newsletter saying incorrect things about a tool I developed a while ago and someone was confused enough that they reached out to *me* for more details.

That made me so angry.

As an editor, I’ve some times run into sticky spots where someone cited Wikipedia badly.

But because @wikipedia has ethics and standards, it was easy to tell my clients “bruh, don’t cite Wikipedia, cite its sources!”

If someone cites ChatGPT, I’ll just be like 🤷

Ew. I really hope no one's using Generative AI in drafting legislation.
