Föderation EN Mo 21.08.2023 23:32:28 HEY LOCALS! I'm not planning on joining the Mastodon 4.2 Beta, but I will be upgrading when it drops for reals. Today I ran a bunch of version compatibility checks to make sure we'll be ready to go. (We are.) V4.2 includes a lot of new features, a bit of feature removal (which I complained about but has functionally been worked around) and also adds full-text search in a better way than we've been doing it with ElastiSearch. Whether your toots will be full-text searchable depends upon an opt-in which you'll be able to find in your Preferences. Given that the UI for this has already changed between Beta 1 and Beta 2, I guessing how it'll look in final release, but it'll be there. There will be some downtime, but hopefully not much. |
