Adding to that (in the rare case not everyone remembered “Banach-Tarski" at once):

You actually can, mathematically proven, divide an object into (very) many (very) tiny pieces, reassemble them and – get two objects, each with the size as the initial one.

Caveat: Really many, really tiny pieces with really peculiar geometry required.

@mina it's not the shape that makes the trick work here as much as it is the frame rate and inability to stop the animation. The brain leans INTO the illusion rather than the actuality. It doesn't want to see the individual frames and their differences.

Das plötzlich übrig gebliebene Extrastück ergibt sich aus den kleinen Eckchen, die unmerklich größer geschummelt werden. Gerade vor dem Andocken ist noch mal ein größerer Schnitt, der das verbirgt. Weil die Formen grob stimmen, tritt das optisch nicht ins Bewusstsein. Die Teile werden auf jeden Fall größer geschummelt. Die zerbrochenen Schokostücke gewinnen an Fläche, bzw Höhe.
