Some of you have been asking about the #Fedivision song contest, and whether it will run this year.

#Fedivision2025 will not be run.

The organizers (@TQ, @zatnosk, and me) agree that the Fediverse has grown to a size where Fedivision doesn’t work as a format any more. We have so many talented amateur musicians here that it’s not practical for voters to commit the hours of time needed to listen to all the entries. The labour required to organize the event has also scaled past the point where we can do it in our spare time.

Calling all Comfy musicians! I’m putting together a collection of songs that will be a tribute to RadioFreeFedi Comfy channel!

The scope:
• A new recording, needn’t be a new composition
• Has that RFF Comfy vibe, genre otherwise not important
• A collaboration between two or more of you who connected thanks to RFF
• Finish by end of February 2025

Let’s invent a neologism to describe this absurd hubris, and spread it widely so that every dictionary except Dictionary.com includes it.

Lol, I got a China Domain Registry scam email for my Bookwyrm domain outside.ofa.dog. Apparently some scoundrel wants to register outside.cn, outside.com.cn, outside.net.cn, etc., clearly violating my trademark, and I can act now to thwart them.

Only … those domains are already taken, so how are they gonna scam me by massively overcharging for them?
