The last 14 hours: a thread 🧵
8:15pm I arrive at the airport for a flight to Seoul. I realize I don’t have my passport.

It is not at my parents house and I’m unable to find it. I’ve lost it in the last 24 hours.

I start to research emergency passport options.

This is the most butt-hurt platform. Someone yells at me for posting a link to something paywalled (and sorry, it’s skill issue if you can’t get past it or find an alternative) and when I point out that I don’t work for them, they throw a temper tantrum and block. Block whoever you want. But I don’t work for you. I don’t answer to any of you. I’ll post links to where I want to post.

Genuinely, fuck AOL/Yahoo/Apollo Global or whoever for doing this. I don’t care if you want to sell the old brand and IP, sans content. But when the entity that bought the domain reuses the bylines of the original authors, that’s when I’m mad. The site has been dead for a decade. I stopped writing for it 15 years ago. But for better or worse (and I say better), it’ll always be part of my history and “associated” with me. I’m pissed. And the about page brags about how it rewrote our old content!
