Föderation EN Sa 25.01.2025 15:10:04 This is ridiculous. I can't even find where I am with a phone using Pachli. It's absolutely nothing like TweeseCake. I can read posts and respond to them, but I have to keep scrolling and can't immediately go to the top or bottom of a list. So if I haven't used this since October 2024, I have to arrow to the posts from the present, which means literally thousands upon thousands of keystrokes. Even when I go to notifications, I'm not sure if I'm reading current things or older ones. I'm sure Tusky is the same, since Pachli is based on it. I can try racoon, but I'm guessing it won't have great keyboard support either. Not everyone wants to use a touchscreen! Fortunately, from what I know, the makers of Pachli really do care about accessibility, so perhaps, something can be done to increas the number of keyboard shortcuts. #accessibility #Android #blind #Pachli #Talkback #TweeseCake #Windows |
Föderation EN Sa 25.01.2025 16:52:53 @dandylover1 From the top right three-dot menu choose "Load newest posts" to jump to the top. You can also change the behaviour when tapping a tab to do this, https://pachli.app/pachli/2024/09/30/2.8.2-release.html#jump-to-newest-posts-when-tapping-a-tab Content in timelines is generally shown with the newest items at the top. There is also an experimental control to change that, https://pachli.app/pachli/2024/08/30/2.8.0-release.html#experimental-support-for-reversing-the-timeline |
Föderation EN Sa 25.01.2025 17:24:10 @pachli I sincerely thank you for such a prompt response! But can this be done from the keyboard? If so, how? |
Föderation EN Sa 25.01.2025 17:43:22 @dandylover1 I haven't tried it, but if your device supports Talkback then https://support.google.com/accessibility/android/answer/6110948?hl=en#zippy=%2Cdefault-keymap lists the keyboard shortcuts for navigating around the screen. I have just tried with Talkback gesture navigation and that lets me navigate to the menu, open it, and choose "Load newest posts", so I expect the keyboard shortcuts to do the same thing should work. |
