It feels like every time I try and give @Vivaldi a try, I run into some kind of issue. I just tried downloading a file, but it just wouldn't complete the download. I switched over to @mozilla and it worked like a charm.

bundles everything together so nicely, I really like it. But these niggling little issues make it harder to use as a daily driver.

It doesn't help that I've rarely had success getting help or even any responses on the Vivaldi user forum.

@cynical13

- What OS are you on and which version of Vivaldi?
- Is file download start and stop and when (start or random or end)?
- Can you test in default config?
Just create a new profile and download exactly the same file.
- Please give us the url if possible to let us check here.
- Antivirus can react differently with well known programs (firefox/chrome) but weirdly with Vivaldi. If possible try to disable any software between client (vivaldi) and server (where you download the file)

@ramon This time? I was using Snapshot 6.2.3077.3 on Windows 11 Pro. But this has happened before on different versions of Windows & Vivaldi

The files tend to hang right at the end and don't complete.

The only antivirus on these machines is Windows Defender.

Worked fine on a guest window.

Attempted to download jGRASP 2.0.6_11 Beta 6 for Windows: spider.eng.auburn.edu/user-cgi

@cynical13 @ramon The purpose of Snapshots is to test new versions and report on new bugs/regressions. In recent Snapshots, we have enabled an experimental feature which improves the performance. However, it suppresses the Chromium prompt to keep a potentially unsafe file, causing the downloads to never finish. We are currently looking for a solution.
Unless you're willing to encounter similar issues by testing Snapshots, we recommend using the Stable version instead: vivaldi.com/blog/snapshot-vs-s

@Vivaldi @ramon Turned out not to be much better. Tried going to simplesimonspizza.hungerrush.c to order a pizza and the tab was, for all intents and purposes, frozen. I could move the cursor around but I couldn't click on and activate anything, including the address bar. Same site worked perfectly on Firefox. Again.
