What is the best piece of writing you’ve read that argues the importance of privacy in the modern age?

I’ve never really found anything concise and to the point, and sometimes struggle to make my point in favour of privacy.

@alexanderdyas I read NSA - Nationales Sichheitsamt. It is a fiction. It describes a the nazi time, if Hitler has Computer possibilities like now. thalia.de/shop/home/artikeldet

@RalfPessel Thanks, looks interesting. I’ll see if I can find an English translation.

@alexanderdyas Piece of writing as in a book or are you looking for a short quote? If you look for books, I highly recommend Shoshanna Zuboffs "The age of surveillance capitalism" or Edward Snowden's "Permanent record". I'm sure you'll also find good quotes there...
There is a concise article in German on why the argument "I have nothing to hide" is wrong and misleading, but I don't know if this has been translated anywhere: digitalcourage.de/nichts-zu-ve. I could give it (the translation) a try if the authors are okay with that.
