Sorry for the late reply.

If you want to check just one panel, I would recommend using each panel's own shortcut. Then when focusing elsewhere the panel bar hides together with the panel. You can view and update the shortcuts in Settings > Keyboard > View.

Unfortunately, as soon as you switch panels, the panel bar will no longer autohide.
