Föderation EN So 27.10.2024 22:03:40 @matrix I love matrix.org, however, I may have to leave the platform soon. The platform has no checks in place to combat spam. Because of this in the past couple of days, multiple smaller to medium sized rooms I've been a part of have been completely killed because they have been flooded with thousands of spam messages everyday about scams and Nazism. I've brought this up to multiple admins and moderators and they refuse to do anything. As far as I can tell Matrix has no working spam filter. |

Other similar platforms have checks in place to detect unusual network activity, prevent DMing thousands of people per day, and have an actual, functioning report system. The fact that you are met with hostility on the platform when mentioning these issues is appalling. |

For sure, a lot more work needs to be done, but we're definitely not resting on our laurels! |

In the Official matrix chat scam messages are having to be removed every 5 minutes because of the lack of moderation tools and filters and people are just openly meeting up to sext while mods are hostile and often straight up harassing members that bring up issues, And then user DMS are flooded with Nazi propaganda. This is not how you run a platform. This has been a known issue for years and has only gotten worse. |
