What Etsy did was break its own model to allow numerous "shops" selling the same factory made crap onto a site that was supposed to be only for artisans & hand-crafted items. Why? Greed. More "stuff," more clicks, they thought. And many artisans and a lot of customers voted with their...keyboards, and went elsewhere.
