Dear Canadian friends, European friends:

I so hate to say this, but I need you to know, from a US citizen: do not come.

I love you, and I know you love me, and that is not faltering.

But when the rule of law collapses, *everyone* is at risk, and the rule of law is collapsing here.

The bottom line: it is not safe. That is why, tho I will miss you terribly, you must not come.

Special note to my Canadian loves. Teach the Europeans what "elbows up!" means.

Here's two wildly radical things you can do, one right now, one tomorrow.

Right now: You're here, on mastodon, and you're following someone, and that someone is adding value to your life. Tell them. Just tell them. Not a fave, not a boost, a message.

Tomorrow: Find a way to be kind to someone who needs it, and remember that you are a someone.

You don't think they're radical, but they are. Resistance starts right here.

Aight. You wanna change the world, but you're overwhelmed and exhausted, I totally get that, believe me, I totally get that.

Here's a thing.

Right now, you're on mastodon. Right now, there are people in your home feed who are doing stuff that makes you stronger.

Right now, in a single fucking post, 30 seconds max, *tell* them that.
