Hey I'm looking for some guides and help on adding customisation to our server. I do not have access to the root of the server so it all has to work in the css changes in the admin panel.

@david so with the security patch we've been upgraded to masto 4.2 on our hometown instance. I'm mostly interested in making changes to the names on the live feeds tab and toot button.

I'm also interested in any repositories of tips and tricks and tools related to 4.2 that I might have access to now. I think our moderation api is finally upgraded with this so any tools that are being developed for that are of great interest.

@Crazypedia I wish that there were more moderation tools! I'm wanting to make time just to make my own eventually.

If you only have CSS changes available, I'd try something like using the ::after() pseudo-element, hide the text with a font-size change, and bring it back in that element.

The below css will turn posts with links to other posts in them into more traditional "quote posts," showing more of the content of the shared toot post. Pictured: Same post without CSS at original instance and with css applied from within my instance.

}

white-space: normal;
}

It's not perfect but it added value to my timeline.
