@BenRiceM When I see people judge each other’s intelligence by how many mathematical questions & answers they can remember / recite / blag through, instead of CALCULATE, it makes me see that this level of skill is the only one they know.

“How many zeroes in one million?” isn’t just something I see people guess with confidence on social media. It’s something I see in young children who haven’t been taught the value of working a problem, instead of hoarding answers.

Truth via verification, not certification

@BenRiceM I do not understand why people want to use LLMs to summarise anything, be it emails, notifications, blog posts, whatever. If you didn't care about the notification enough to read it, disable it, and save yourself time.

Unfortunately, it's the latest thing, so it will get forced upon everyone. It is those people not technically literate enough to understand what is happening, or to know how to disable it, who will suffer the most.
