Got to ask: What do you think is a better overall choice for a general purpose tablet form factor device: one that runs a mobile OS (and therefore is probably well familiar with the interface and hardware its working with), or one that runs a full, actual OS like Linux/Win (and therefore is far more flexible and customizable)?

:boostRequest:

75% Desktop OS (Windows, Linux, etc)
25% Mobile OS (iPad, Android)

@tek_dmn I think it depends on what your needs are and how you define a "general purpose" tablet for yourself. When I think general purpose, I think mobile OS for typical tasks (email, browser, video, music, text, etc.) A full OS would be more like a wider purpose, or a special purpose, rather than general.

That's how my mind frames it, anyway... Which is best for you? Depends on your wants and needs, regardless of what you call it. :)

Lastly, familiarity may count for a lot.

@tek_dmn@mastodon.tekdmn.me A desktop OS, especially if you have a detachable keyboard to go with it. Plasma Desktop works fairly well on tablet, surprisingly; just turn the UI scale up if you need to.
