Ukraine gave up its nukes in exchange for an agreement that Russia would respect their sovereignty and borders.

Any peace agreement that doesn't respect this prior treaty is proof, in and of itself, that Russia will not honor the agreement.

"We know we promised we wouldn't annex any territory, but if you agree to cede territory to us, we promise we won't annex any more territory."

Bigots often operate under the assumption that everyone else secretly thinks the same way they do but are just too scared to say it out loud. They cling to the idea that their views are in the majority.

Dispel them of that delusion whenever you possibly can.

That's my thinking, too. There's a frighteningly large number of people who are going to vote for him no matter what, but it's the swing votes that sway elections. This has to put a dent in his chances with that demographic.
