I am using the "Official" mastodon Android app, and I don't like it.

The file control they are using doesn't let me get to OneDrive, and they hid bookmarks.

Is there a better one, or am I back to mobile web?

@jerry @Sempf Aye, it seems like Tusky is the overall best Android client.

FWIW the official client is an MVP by design. I've read that the Mastodon devs had little interest in a mobile app but did just enough work on one up help with user acceptance.

@scottpack @jerry @Sempf This is 100% false. We care a lot about the mobile client and a significant part of our budget goes into paying devs and designers for those.
Progress may be slow, because we do not have a large team, but we want to offer good mobile apps.

@megalodon @puzzler Yup, that's it. Everyone else is using some fancy file control that only looks at the on phone images, and you can't really get to a "file". Frustrating.

1. links from outside pachli that are to posts on other instances end up in the browser; copying and pasting stuff around is just too cumbersome. Not sure that can be fixed.

2. When reloading home feet I prefer to be scrolling to the top and reading down; but I guess that's just me.

@oliof @Sempf (1) is something I plan on looking at in the 3.x series of releases, which will be the "Allow the user to opt in to loading content from other servers" series.

For (2), instead of pull-to-refresh (which retains your reading position), use the 3-dot menu at the top right, and choose "Load newest posts", which will load the newest posts, put you at the top, and you can scroll down.
